It’s not just about your kidneys.
I also work with individuals managing prediabetes, diabetes, and high blood pressure —conditions that can significantly impact kidney health over time. You don’t need to have kidney disease to start taking care of your kidneys. By addressing nutrition and lifestyle early, my goal is to help you manage these conditions, support your overall health, and take a proactive approach to protecting your kidney health for the future.
Evidence Over Internet Noise
There is an overwhelming amount of nutrition information online—and unfortunately, not all of it is accurate.
Quick fixes, unnecessary supplements, restrictive diets, and conflicting advice can leave people confused about what they should actually be doing for their kidneys.
My role is to help you cut through that noise.
I'll help you understand your labs, your nutrition needs, and the reasoning behind our recommendations so you can make informed decisions about your health. I want to be more than your nutrition teacher. I'm here to be your coach, guide, and cheerleader throughout the process.
Because my goal isn't simply to help you follow a “kidney diet.”
I want you to feel well, enjoy food, spend meaningful time with the people you love, and have the best quality of life possible.
That's why I started Kidney Wellness Nutrition: to help more families have more time together—with better health and better quality of life, both before dialysis and during it.
“Because taking care of your health shouldn’t mean giving up the foods, moments, and people you love.”
Hi, I'm Justine —
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
I’ve been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2016, and for the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of working in kidney care as both a dietitian and administrator in the dialysis setting.
And yes—I genuinely find kidneys fascinating.
The connection between nutrition, kidney function, and the rest of our health is incredibly complex. Throughout my career, I’ve seen firsthand how personalized nutrition can make a meaningful difference in a person’s lab values, how they feel, and how confidently they manage their health.
I've also seen the realities of living with kidney disease and dialysis. That experience is a big part of why I created Kidney Wellness Nutrition.
I want to help people protect and support their kidney health as early as possible. And for those already living with advanced kidney disease or receiving dialysis, I want to help make nutrition feel manageable while supporting their health, comfort, and quality of life.
Nutrition Should Fit Your Life
My philosophy is simple: no two people are exactly alike, so their nutrition plans shouldn't be either.
Your lab values matter. Your medical history matters. But so do your culture, your family, your schedule, the foods you love, and what is realistically achievable in your everyday life.
I grew up in a Hispanic household, I speak Spanish, and I love good food. I understand that food is so much more than nutrients on a plate. It's family, culture, tradition, celebrations, comfort, and connection. Being told that you suddenly can't eat the foods you've enjoyed your entire life can have a real impact on your relationship with food and your quality of life.
That's why my approach isn't about handing you a long list of foods you can no longer eat.
Instead, we'll work together to understand what your body needs and find realistic, attainable changes that support your health without unnecessarily taking the joy out of eating.
